One example: a branch manager's 360. Every leader's circle looks different.

Drew Bird

“I've worked with banks and credit unions in both Canada and the US. Credit union leaders care deeply about their members and their teams, and they deserve honest feedback about how they lead. A well-run 360 gives them that.”

Drew Bird, Founder, ClearPoint360

The challenge

Credit union leaders are promoted for great service. Then they have to lead.

Many credit union leaders rise from member-facing roles into supervising, then managing branches and departments. They know how to serve members, but few get structured feedback on how they lead. Without it, small issues grow quietly:

  • Leadership that varies from branch to branch
  • New supervisors left to figure it out alone
  • Succession gaps as experienced leaders retire
  • Turnover among member service staff
  • Silos between branches, lending and operations
  • A member experience that depends on the location

The instruments

A 360 for every level of your credit union

From your newest supervisor to your executive team, start with the 360 that fits the role. Each one has 40 items across five areas plus three written questions, and takes raters about 15 minutes.

Questions

Credit union questions, answered

Does it work for smaller credit unions?

Yes. There's no minimum number of leaders, so you can start with one person and grow from there.

Can the 360 reflect our values?

Yes. You can tailor any of our four 360s with competencies from our library for an extra $100 per leader, or we can build a fully custom 360 on your own values or competency model, from $2,000 one-time setup.

Can we use it for a whole leadership program or academy?

Yes. The cost per leader is the same whether you start with one branch manager, your senior team or a full cohort of new supervisors.

How is confidentiality protected?

Responses are anonymous and reports show aggregated results by rater group. If fewer than three people respond in a group, that group's ratings are withheld to protect anonymity.

Does our board have to be involved?

No. Board participation is optional and only relevant for the CEO and senior executives. When board members do take part, their responses are anonymous, just like every other group.

How long does it take?

Invitations can go out in as little as 48 hours. Most 360s take three to four weeks from launch to report.
